For decades, educational technology has focused primarily on improving access to content. Learning management systems have made it easier to distribute textbooks, presentations, videos, assignments and assessments to students anywhere in the world. While these advances have transformed course delivery, they have not fundamentally changed how many technical subjects are taught. Students are still often expected to learn theory first and develop practical skills later.
Today, a different approach is emerging.
